intro

Touting some of the best sound quality in New York, any show at the beautiful Beacon Theatre is always a good time. The theater is technically seated, but you’ll be dancing in front of your seat quickly.

history

Similar to the Kings Theatre, the Beacon was also originally built as a movie palace. It hosted its first rock concert in 1971 following the closing of the iconic rock venue Fillmore East, and it went through renovations to add modern live music equipment in 1974. After a short-lived attempt to convert the venue to a nightclub in the late 80’s, it established itself as one of the premier concert destinations in NYC, which it continues to be to this day.
